The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings and Coach Jim Struve gathered at Pizza Ranch for their annual wrap-up this week. Coach Struve honored some players for setting records, and presented team awards as well as all-conference and all-district honors.
Tyler Rippel broke the Single Season Record for Fewest Walks Allowed per Inning .161---This record had been held for 24 years. Also, he broke the Career Record for Fewest Walks Allowed per Inning .239 - This record had been held for 17 years.
Jordan Womochil broke the Single Season Record for Highest Fielding Percentage 1.000 - 0 Errors---This record had been held for 20 years. Also, he broke the Career Record for Highest Fielding Percentage .990 - 1 Error over 2 years in 84 games played - This record had been held for 20 years.
Wes Edwards tied Nate Edwards(brother) record for Most Hit by Pitch in a Season - 25
