The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikettes put on a big display of offense, scoring a total of 33 runs in a sweep of South Tama at home on Monday.
The Vikettes won 23-13 and 10-7 to improve their record to 4-8.
The first game was tied at 13 when the Vikettes came to the plate and scored 10 in the bottom of the sixth to end the game under the Mercy Rule.
Elly Gloede had five hits and scored five runs in that game. Rachel Tandy was the winning pitcher and Alex Maynard came on to get the final out.
In the second game, the Vikettes also had a big sixth inning, scoring 5. Bif Davis led VS in that game with two hits, three runs scored and an RBI. Hannah Kalous had four hits. Alex Maynard got the win on the mound, pitching a complete game and only allowing two earned runs.
