Sports : Vikings Weeks, Scott Betterton to continue wrestling at State meet

After a rough morning in which all four Vinton-Shellsburg wrestlers lost their first-round matches at State on Thursday, two of the four won their first consolation match and will continue to wrestle today in hopes of earning a medal. Scott Betterton (145) lost his first match, 1-0, but then won a 6-4 decision. Carter Weeks (126) lost by a 4-2 decision, then won his next match 6-4. Both will wrestle this morning. Mike Betterson (106) was pinned in his first match, and lost his second to Center Point-Urbana's Cole Whitehead, buy a 9-2 decision. Luke Radeke (132) was pinned in his first match, and ended his tourney losing an 8-7 decision. See all resultsHERE.
