Sports : Tanner Cummings leads Viking golfers in first home meet

From left: Viking golfer Tanner Cummings (37) was the medalist for Thursday's home meet; Independence golfer Brayden Holt (40) was runner up and Jack Rummel of Indee was the JV medalist with a 47. Tanner Cummings was the medalist carding 37, as the VS Vikings hosted Independence Thursday for the first meet of the year after challenging spring weather. Tanner Cummings played a solid round carding a 37 to win the meet by 3 strokes. Brayden Holt from Independence was the runner-up medalist carding a 40. Independence won the varsity meet, 165 - 177. Viking results: Broc Shaw turned in a 42 followed by Sam Moen with a 47. Seth Patterson was the fourth varsity score carding a 51. Brayden Almquist turned in a 54 and Jace Rake shot 56.
