The ball bounced in. It rolled around. Then it bounced out.
The 3-point shot from Jake Dyson would have won the game. Instead, the ball exited the top of the rim as time ran out. The VIkings lost to Oelwein, 56-54, in overtime, ending their season.
Oelwein advances to the next round, where they will play Benton Community, which defeated Union, 67-42.
The Vikings led 25-20 at the half, but Oelwein rallied to take a 48-45 lead before a 3-point shot by sophomore Max Kearns tied the game at 48. Both teams missed free throws in the final seconds of the fourth period.
