Sports : Vikette golfers improve to 8th at WaMaC Super Meet

We had a storm delay midmorning, so it was a lengthy round.

 

Medalist: Stine Laursen, Maquoketa     84

Runner-up: Ellie Ament, Western Dubuque  86

 

     V-S improved from last year's team's 14th place finish to 8th (out of 15 teams)!  Timberline is a tough course to walk; it is long and hilly and filled with hazards. This resulted in numerous penalty strokes. I felt our team played very well and showed the improvement they have worked hard to attain this season.

 

     Liz Moen and Erin Randall were named WAMAC honorable mention by scoring in the top 25 (24 and 25 respectively).  Kelsey Mahood missed this honor by one stroke; Kelsey had low putts for our team yesterday.
