A potential payday of $3,600 is on the line when Benton County Speedway hosts its annual Hogan Memorial for IMCA Modifieds this Sunday, July 10.
The feature now pays $1,350 to win and another $50 for each of the 40 laps led, plus another $250 to the leader at midway. The winner will also be added to the ballot for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.
A minimum of $110, including sponsor money, will be paid to make the main event. Two former race winners and the top two drivers in local track points who do not qualify will receive provisional starts.
National, ButlerBuilt North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. The Ron-Da-Voo Lounge will give a $250 hard charger award. The winner also goes home with a Hoosier race tire and feature qualifiers will be entered in a drawing for a barrel of methanol from Fauser Oil.
A mandatory caution will be thrown for a five minute break midway through the feature, with all cars stopping on the frontstretch.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will vie for all applicable IMCA points.
Scott Pippert Trucking kicks in $100 to winners of the Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and SportMod features. The Ron-Da-Voo will also give $125 hard charger awards in the Stock Car and SportMod mains.
Keith and Sue Pittman will give $50 to two mystery position finishers in the Modified main and J & V NAPA will give $50 to the top three non-qualifiers. Other prizes to be awarded include $50 gift cards from Theisen’s and Seegy’s Speed Shop.
There is no entry fee for any class.
Pit gates and the grandstand open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids 6-13, with five and under admitted free. Pit passes are $20.
