Sports : Vikette golfers take second at home quad meet

Natalie Ketchen tees off Tuesday; she was among Vikette leaders.

Erin Randall again was a leader for the Vikettes, shooting a 48 on Tuesday.

Katie Lovell scored a personal best 49; Vikettes finished second in 4-way meet.

Erin Randall and Natalie Ketchen (48) and Katie Lovell (49, a personal best) led the VS VIkette golfers to second place in a quadrangular meet on Tuesday afternoon at the Vinton Country Club.

Wow! Our six varsity members shot within four strokes of each other. I don’t know that I’ve ever had that situation.  But I like it!  It was a personal best in competition for Katie Lovell.  Low putts: Natalie Ketchen with 16.  This was a tight competition between the top three schools.

Samantha Jorgensen and Colleen Finch played JV.  Samantha had a personal best with 58.

Our varsity record is now 6 and 2.  We will play Saturday at Tara Hills, Van Horne in the annual Benton Invitational.  Monday varsity will play at Manchester in the annual West Delaware Invitational.  Tuesday we return to Wildcat in Shellsburg and host Jesup in a dual.
