Sports : Vikettes finish fourth at Benton girls golf tournament

The Vinton-Shellsburg girls golf team finished fourth on Saturday in the Benton Invitational golf tournament, played at Tara Hills Golf Course, Van Horne  (par 37). Seven teams competed for team and individual medals

Some great team and individual scores were posted!  We had probably the best weather conditions possible; no measurable wind which is very unusual for Tara Hills.

 

Erin Randall was the only Vikette to score in the 40s both rounds.  Mara Jessen had low putts for nine holes with 16. We were hoping to break 400; 406 is close but we can do better.

The VS girls will be at Manchester Monday in the West Delaware Invitational. Tuesday their makeup is scheduled with Jesup at Wildcat in Shellsburg.  Friday they will play a dual at Williamsburg and next Monday they travel to the Amana golf course for our WAMAC divisional meet hosted by Clear Creek-Amana.
