Sports : Vikettes earn some career bests, defeat Benton at Wildcat, 186-196

Benton Community's girls golf team played its best round of the season, but the Vinton-Shellsburg girls were 10 shots better than that Thursday, as the Vikettes defeated the Bobcats, 186-196.

Junior Erin Randall had the lowest score of her high school career with a 42; she also tied Samantha Jorgensen for low putts with 15.  The team had the lowest putting rounds yet this season.  Senior Sam Jorgensen also shot her career best with a 53 on the front nine! Natalie Ketchen shot a season best 41 against Jesup at Wildcat recently; tonight she nearly matched that round.  Our other four varsity team members were within 3 shots of each other!  

Benton Community shot its lowest round of the season tonight.
