Et cetera Amvets 218 and VFW Post 8884 honor volunteers

The Vinton Amvets 218 and the VFW Post 8884 and families, met for their annual Christmas party.

41 members and families met attended.

The highlight of the evening, was when VFW Commander - Dale Henry presented John Gualtier with a plaque recognizing his 6,525 volunteer hours at the Iowa City VA Hospital, he has volunteered for 20 years there.

Ron Geiger was also honored with a plaque from Commander Henry for his 1,100 volunteer hours at the Iowa City VA Hospital. 

The VFW Post voted to start a VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Vinton.  If you are interested in joining, we will have an informational meeting on Sunday January 8th, 2012 at the Vinton Pizza Ranch at 2:00 pm.
