In recent years, women’s roles in Iowa agriculture have changed dramatically. It has become more and more evident there is a need to reach out to women at the local level and to help them make connections they may find helpful as landowners, farmers, and other important role-players in our state’s largest industry.
In response to this increasing need, the USDA State Outreach Council has designed the grassroots program Women, Land & Legacy. It is currently active in numerous Iowa counties and brings together Iowan women interested in agriculture, local food and natural resources to converse, listen and become empowered for involvement on their landscape and in their communities.
Persons needing accommodations to participate in this event should contact Melody Bro at 641/484-2702, ext. 120, TDD# or Federal Relay Service at 1-800-877-8339, or melody.bro@ia.nacdnet.net .
