Lyle Edwin Schneider, age 81, of Denver, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Mercy One Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.Lyle was born on October 28, 1941, in Bremer County, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Esther (Klemp) Schneider. Donald W Smith, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Vinton on November 27th, 2022. To honor Don’s wishes, there will be no public services. Donald was born May 18th, 1932, in Vinton Iowa, the son of Ralph and Susan Smith. A graduate from Lincoln High School 1950 in Vinton. He served with the United States Army shortly after the Korean war from 1953-1955 as a supply sergeant. Miriam I. Canfield
Miriam I. Canfield, age 102 and 6 months, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Keystone Care Center. There will be no public services. There will be a memory plaque at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa. Miriam was born on May 26, 1920, in Titonka, Iowa, the daughter of Merland Q. Knoll and Gladys (Chapman) McKinney. Russell “Red” Lee Kimm, 87, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away November 28, 2022 at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids.Russell was born on November 17, 1935 to Porter and Esther (Schaffer) Kimm in Blairstown, IA. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the Walt Portwood Farm. Red retired from Midland Forge after 35 years of service. Wilferd Joseph Becker

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, December 2, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Newhall with Rev. James Miller officiating. David was born on March 18, 1969, in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Max and Marilyn (Greene) Reisch. He graduated from Washington High School in Vinton with the class of 1987. Marilyn Jean Eddards, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Private family services will be held. Marilyn was born on March 20, 1948, in Arlington Heights, Illinois to Ervin and Rose (Schwartz) Allison. She was united in marriage to Glen Eddards. Glen passed away at a young age, and Marilyn raised her children on her own.

Eugene F. "Jim" Garthoff, 89, of Elk Run Heights, died on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at home.Eugene was born on February 27, 1933 in Waterloo, son of Phillip Jr. and Lois (Weldon) Garthoff.He married Lucille A. Curtis on January 27, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on August 19, 2021.Eugene worked in maintenance for 32 years at John Deere until retiring December 13, 1991.
