After a courageous four year battle with non-small cell lung cancer, Cheryl L. Cook, 63, of Vinton, passed away at her home on Monday, May 9, 2022 with her family surrounding her.Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home in Vinton. Charlotte Kerkman of Blairstown passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the age of three months and seven days. B. Andrew Wright officiating.Carol was born on May 17, 1943 in Vinton, the daughter of Robert and Edna (Husted) Bergen. Timothy Allen Hoskins, age 45, was unexpectedly taken from his friends and family way too soon on May 2, 2022. He passed away peacefully at his home in Walford, IA.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Clover Ridge United Methodist Church in Walford with Pastor Kolleen Queener officiating. Seaman First Class David Franklin Tidball, 20, of Independence, Iowa, died December 7, 1941, aboard the USS Oklahoma during the attack on Pearl Harbor at the beginning of World War Two. On March 3, 2021, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced that his remains had been recovered and identified and will be brought back to Iowa for Interment in the Tidball Family Plot.
