Howard C. Heaton, 96, of Perry died August 19, 2021, at the Eden Acres campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, IowaHoward retired as a foreman from the Oscar Mayer pork processing plant after serving several years. He previously sold farm equipment to farmers throughout western Iowa and was a farmer for 13 years.Howard was born in Elberon, Iowa, on November 23, 1924.

Darrell James Kaestner, 87, of Vinton, formerly of Newhall, passed away peacefully on August 17th, 2021, at the Keystone Care Center, after battling Parkinson's Disease for more than a decade. A visitation will be held on August 22, 2021, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. His life will be honored on Monday, August 23, 2021, at 10:30 AM at St.

Patricia Joan (Driscol) Anthony, age 85, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 23, 2021, at the First Christian Church in Vinton with Rev. Richard Jumper officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until service time.  A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the service.

Marilyn Rhoads, 93, of Granger, IN, formerly of Keystone, passed peacefully of natural causes, November 25, 2020, while residing at The Hearth @ Juday Creek, Granger, Indiana. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. She was born August 21, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Roy and Hazel Appleton.

Funeral services for Lola F. Jennings, 87, of East Moline, IL, will be 10am Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs Jennings passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Bickford Cottage, Moline, IL.Lola was born June 30,1934, to Arthur and Frances (Kron) Draker.

Elwood "Woody" Miracle, 80, died peacefully at home Thursday, August 12, 2021.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Vinton with Pastor Richard Jumper and Jennie Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.

Delores Ann (Primus) Orman, age 78, passed away peacefully in her home with her family attending her on Aug. 7, 2021.Delores was born March 23, 1943, in Vinton, Iowa. She grew up in Vinton and was an active teenager involved in 4-H, as well as being a life guard, her church youth group, and helping at her parents' appliance store. She graduated from Vinton High School in 1961 and earned her bachelor's degree in home economics and interior design from Iowa State University Ames in 1965.

Donnette Lynn Gossen, 73, of Belle Plaine, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, at Compress Memorial Healthcare in Marengo.Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery, south of Grinnell. The Gossen family will receive friends one hour (9:30 a.m.) prior to the service at the funeral home.

Fred Johnson, 83, of Shellsburg, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at Hospice House, Hiawatha. Celebration of Life: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at Knight's of Columbus 909, 1620 E Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Private burial: Parker's Grove Cemetery, Shellsburg. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.Survivors include his children, Tim (Jill) Johnson, Tina (Shawn) Lillie, Tammy Johnson and Trudy (Gerard) Wagner; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Harlan Johnson; and many extended family members.

Robert R. "Rob" Kibbie Jr., 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at his home in Shellsburg. A celebration of Rob's life will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.
