Rikki William Young

Rikki William Young, 63, of Vinton died October 10th, 2024 at Allen Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 27th 1-4pm at the Vinton American Legion. Rik's focus in life were his children and grandchildren. After that it was the Kansas City Chiefs, his truck and his motorcycle.He is survived by his mother Kathy Smith, his children Dakotah (Katie and Kyra), Tristan (Jasmine, Nellii and Jordan), Jaden (Kiarra and Madilynn).

Selma Marie Kaiser

 It has pleased the Lord to receive Selma Marie Kaiser, 94, into her heavenly home. She passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Vinton, Iowa.    Visitation will be at Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton, Iowa on Friday October 18, 2024 from 3-7 pm.The funeral service will be at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Garrison, Iowa on October 19, 2024, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Adam Baumann officiating.

June Marie Salerno

June Marie Salerno, “Junebug”, born June 4, 1931, went to be with our Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 11, 2024. VanSteenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for June and her family.June was born, raised and lived most of her life in Upstate New York. June worked for 26 years for the state of New York at the Wilton Developmental Center. She loved her residents and staff and they certainly loved her.

Michael Dean “Moose” Kerkman

Michael Dean “Moose” Kerkman, 73, of Van Horne IA passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2024, surrounded by family after a short battle with Lymphoma.His services will be held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church where he was a member on Saturday, October 19, 2024.  Visitation will be held from 9-12 followed by the funeral at 12. Dennis Dayle VanDeVenter

Dennis Dayle VanDeVenter, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Harmony Cedar Rapids Memorial Services are pending at this time. Dennis was born on December 23, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Joseph and Inez (Runyon) VanDeVenter.  He graduated from Washington High School, with the Class of 1963.  On January 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Barbara Hilliard at Wesley Methodist Church in Vinton.

Hannah Hibbs Struve

Hannah Hibbs Struve, 87, passed away at her residence, Friday, October 11, 2024. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Hannah and her family.Hannah was born November 26, 1936, in Vinton, the daughter of David and Frona (Bunze) Hibbs. She graduated from Vinton High School, attended Patricia Stevens Finishing School and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.

Randy DeWight Narveson, 69, of Urbana, Iowa, died Thursday, October 10, 2024. The family will host a Celebration of Life from 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Urbana Methodist Church, 5547 32nd Avenue, Urbana, with a prayer service beginning at 4 p.m.

Ronald F. Cory

On a crisp October 8th dawn at 4:54 am, Ronald F Cory left this earth for heaven under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.     Ronald was born June 22, 1947, the first born son of Melvin Duane and Marilyn Storm Cory.  He was a baptized and confirmed member of the Tama Methodist church.  He grew up in Tama and graduated in 1965 from SouthTama High School.
