Jeffrey “Jeff” Joel Fisher, 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Harmony Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Porte City, with Father Anthony Nketiah as Celebrant. Duane John Yung, 84, of Toledo and formerly of Clutier, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at Unity Point Health-Marshalltown. A Mass of Christian burial was on held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in rural Clutier. Visitation will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Walter Dale Cook
Walter Dale Cook, 87, of Walker, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. James Charles Chekal, 89, passed away on Monday, February 5. A resident of Belle Plaine, Iowa, James was born on February 14, 1934, to James Chekal and Ella Bayzn.James obtained an associate's degree through the Air Force. From January 1954 to February 1974, he worked on ground support equipment that maintained aircraft. He also owned and operated Jim's appliance until his retirement. Wanda Carleen Campbell
Wanda Carleen Campbell, 70, of Vinton, Iowa, formerly of Central City, Iowa, passed peacefully into eternity in her sleep on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Virginia Gay Nursing & Rehab in Vinton. After many years of a brave and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, Wanda is now “out of her own little world and back into the lives of others!” A private celebration of life will be held later. John Mayhew, 67, of Vinton, passed away at his beloved home on the river surrounded by his wife and girls on Monday, February 12, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. Ramona Jean Boeckmann, 90, of La Porte City, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at La Porte City Specialty Care. She was born June 23, 1933, in Iowa, daughter of Walter and Adelia (Knief) Eickelberg.
