Harold O. Ealy Jr., 95, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away March 3, 2024.Harold was born January 6, 1929 in Belle Plaine, Iowa to Edna and Harold (Bus) Ealy.  After his mother remarried, Harold was raised by his mother and stepfather, Leslie Brown. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School, class of 1947. In 1948 Harold enlisted in the US Army.

George E. Hahn, age 90, died Monday, March 4, 2024 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Vinton, with Father Jim Brokman as Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  A visitation will be held from 9 until 10:30 AM Saturday, March 9th at St.

Mary Ann Root, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha from complications from a longtime battle with cancer. Services will be at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation is serving the family.Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, Larry; daughters, Cheryl Mahraun of North Liberty and Kara (Nick) Sanford of Cedar Rapids; son, Allen  (Linda) Root of Norway; 8 grandchildren, Kevin, Janine, Shannon, Shaun, Michael, Benjamin, James and Jordan; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Joanne Ward and Brenda West-Chase; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Asby.

Doris (Cress) Haefner, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Vinton Lutheran Home, with her family by her side.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday March 5, 2024, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, with Rev. Brian Channel officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral Home.

James N. Krogmann, 87, of Masonville, Iowa, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence. Burial will be held at St. Alberts Cemetery in Dundee, Iowa. Visitation was held on Friday from 4 until 7 p.

Alexis “Lexi” Jae Gonzalez, 25, of Atkins, passed away on February 26, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Private family inurnment will be at a later date.Alexis was born November 7, 1998, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jeffrey and Jennifer (Hall) Gonzalez.

Ronald M. Roushar, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Vinton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 22, 2024, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton. He was 85 years old. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 9, 2024, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vinton, with Rev. John Albertson officiating. Private family interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.

Shirley Douthart, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday,February 29, 2024, at her home in Shellsburg, with her family by her side.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Springs of Life Church, 2300 26th Street NW in Cedar Rapids, with Revs. Marty & Jaleda Schminkey, and Chad & Lindsay Garrison officiating.

Marjorie Jean Root was born in Belle Plaine, IA on January 18, 1941. She departed for her heavenly home on September 21, 2023, but don't do the math, she wouldn't like that. In 1959, she graduated Belle Plaine High School and married Wallace DePauw and together they began life with their son Scott, sadly they divorced a few years later. Marge traveled the country eventually landing in Morro Bay, CA where she met Michael Nett, a member of the US Coast Guard.

Teri A. Mosher, 59, of Walker, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Arrangements are pending with Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa.Teri was born November 1, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Carole (Kelso) Beresford. She graduated from North Linn High School, Class of 1983.
