Pippert, Burbridge get 1st wins of year; 12-year-old wins 1st Micro Mod feature
A pair of veteran drivers earned their first wins of the season Sunday night at Benton County Speedway.
Scott Pippert held off Damon Murty for top honors in the Ron-Da-Voo Lounge & Deli IMCA Stock Car division while Mike Burbridge raced to victory in the Cassill Motors IMCA Modifieds.
From the third row, Pippert chased front row starter Mike Galli for one circuit before stealing the lead on lap two.
Union Football Camp for Grades K-2 set for Aug. 30
The 14th annual "We Build Champions" Football Camp will be held Sunday August 30th, 2015 at the park in Dysart. The camp is open to boys and girls of ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT enrolled in grades K-2. Individual skills will be emphasized and flag games. Registration will be from 12:30 to 1:00 in the shelter house in the Dysart park. Camp will run from 1:00 to 3:00.

VS athletes must take Concussion Impact Cognitive Test
V-S is committed to taking a proactive approach towards your child’s safety and well-being during participation in athletics. ALL students who participate in any athletic sport (including cheerleading and Voyagers) are required to take a Concussion Impact Cognitive Test. The cognitive test will produce baseline results which will be used to determine the extent of any potential head injuries that may occur during athletic practices or games.
Hogan in three-way battle for Modified points championship at BCS
With three nights of racing left in the season, Vinton Modified driver Scott Hogan finds himself in the middle of a three-way battle for the Benton County Speedway points championship.
The top three in the IMCA Modified standings this season at the BCS are as follows:
71 Troy Cordes, 442 points
33D Scott Hogan, 442
20L Zach Less, 440
Cordes currently holds the track championship tie-breaker with Hogan.

Vikette alumni softball game includes players from several decades
For the third year in a row, Vikette softball players from several decades reunited at Thole Field to share laughs and memories and to test their skills.
