Richard "Dick" Raymond Baker
Richard "Dick" Raymond Baker was born on Feb. 24, 1941, in Vinton, the son of Raymond and Joy (Latting) Baker. Dick graduated from Dysart High School in 1959. On Oct. 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to Nancy Waller. The couple made their home in Traer and Cedar Rapids before settling in Dysart.Dick worked at Rockwell Collins, Waller's Phillip 66 gas station, and the Farmer's Coop Telephone Co. Dorothy Nadine (Close) Schrader, age 86, died peacefully at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton on Friday, December 3, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton. Interment will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery, rural Vinton. Kevin K. Wright, 71, of Rocky Mount, N.C., passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family. No services will be held in accordance with Kevin's wishes.Kevin was born May 28, 1950, in Cedar Rapids to Russell and DeLores Wright and grew up on the family farm outside of Van Horne. Jerry Lee Rabik, 72, of Shellsburg, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully after a courageous 16-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa, with his wife and children by his side. Miller, 78, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Belle Plaine, drove to his heavenly home on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at the Northern Mahaska Specialty Care Center in Oskaloosa under hospice care after a battle with cancer.Morris was born July 6, 1943, in Bourbon, Mo., the son of Elvin "Eugene" and Martha (Stroup) Miller. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 3, 2021 at Oak Grove Christian Church in Shellsburg with Pastor Matt Magee officiating. Judith Ann Pfranger, San Angelo, Texas passed away on November 29, 2021, at the San Angelo Shannon Medical Center, San Angelo, Texas.Judith was born November 18, 1940, in Vinton, Iowa. She was married to Robert Geiger in 1956 in Garrison Iowa. Robert passed away in 1986. She was married to Delavan Pfranger in Urbana Iowa in 1989. According to her wishes there will be no services.
