Special Olympians prepare for April 16 track event at Coe
Benton County Special Olympians will lead the Parade of Champions for the track competition event on April 16, at Coe College in Cedar Rapids.
And when they recite the Special Olympics Oath, a Vinton-Shellsburg participant, Hunter Burg, will lead them. The Vinton-Shellsburg girls track team members are also making plans to help (and cheer) for the event.

VS girls win golf dual vs. Center Point-Urbana
The Vinton-Shellsburg girls golf team won a dual meet vs. Center Point-Urbana, at Rolling Hills Golf Course outside of Center Point Thursday. Par for the course is 35.
Hannah Looney led all golfers with a 45 to earn meet medalist honors. Liz Moen, playing for the JV, scored a 49.
Brian's View from the Grandstand: Week 1 at Vinton
Welcome to another season of Views from the Grandstands. The final night of the Frostbuster takes us to Vinton. First I want to mention a few things about the track. They removed the large white tractor tires and in their place they buried tires marking the racing surface. From what I heard, they retiled turns one and two and added quite a bit of dirt to the racing surface.
