Cross Country runners compete in first meet tonight

The official 2010 VSHS varsity boys cross-country team photo. Tonight the Vinton-Shellsburg cross-country teams travel to Williamsburg for their first meet. "It's not a large meet, but it will be a competive one," said Coach John Frazier. They observed that custom Tuesday evening, sharing spaghetti, bread sticks, garlic bread and dessert bars.

Out on a Limb 8/20/2010

It is really hard to believe that we are in September already. Where did the summer go? The good thing is we have a lot of fun programs and activities that are getting ready to start up for all ages. Also the Recreation Center has started longer hours for the month of September. This will hopefully help those that want to work out or play some basketball or racquetball get in here either before or after work or school.

Once again it’s my favorite season of the year, football! We are fortunate that we get to kick off our season with our very own V/S Vikings taking the field with down the road rival Benton Community. It is always a fun time of the year to see the community and school spirit. Let’s hope the Vikes can improve from the 4-6 record from last year.
