NEWHALL: Raymond Jensen, 81, died August 11, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 14, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating. Interment will be held at St. Stephen's Cemetery near Atkins, with Graveside Military Rites conducted by John Ward McGranahan American Legion Post #167 of Newhall and the Iowa Military Funeral Honors.

VINTON – Helen P. Leonard, 82, of Vinton, died peacefully Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Windsor Manor in Vinton.
A memorial visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, August 13, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Larry Rodgers will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 13, also at the funeral home.

Kathryn Ann (Kathy) Waskow, 52, of Oelwein, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at Allen Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Kathy was born July 8, 1958 in Waterloo the daughter of Darrell and Judy Stainbrook Stephens. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton. Kathy married Scott Waskow December 17, 1977 in Brandon, Iowa.

He was born August 25, 1926 in Washington, Iowa. After serving in the US Army during WW II, he graduated from the University of Iowa. He taught and coached football, farmed, and owned and operated the International Harvester dealership in Vinton, before taking a management position with International Harvester Corporation.
