Vernon C. Wieditz, 82, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Vinton Lutheran Home following a short battle with cancer.      Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2010 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Garrison with Rev. Mark Leckband officiating.  Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Geo.

 Joan Harrison, 79, died, Thursday, June 10, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an brief illness.      Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Presbyterian Church in Vinton with Rev. Mike Andrew officiating.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.

William David "Bill" Primrose, Sr., 92, former longtime resident of Vinton passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Vinton with Rev. William Primrose, Jr. and Pastor Lyonel Watkinis officiating.

  Winterset-Phyllis Werts, age 90, mother of Carolyn Hibbs of Vinton, died at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset on June 8, 2010. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Winterset with burial in the Earlham Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday June 11, 2010, at the church in Winterset, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.

Riley J. Reeves, 82, of Vinton, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton with Pastor Jim Blair officiating. Military rites will be performed by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post 57 of Vinton and by Iowa Military Funeral Honors of Iowa City.

Corleen Marie Freeman Morrison, 81, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a courageous battle with cancer.      Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 12, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating.  Committal Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

VINTON:  Ronnie Fiebelkorn, 74, died June 9, 2010 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following an extended illness.      Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Clarke E. Frederick officiating.   To honor Ronnie's wishes, please attend in casual dress.

CEDAR RAPIDS:  Gertrude Nichols, 94, died June 9, 2010 at the Vinton Lutheran Home in Vinton following a sudden illness.      Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids with Father David Ambrosy officiating.  To honor her request there will be no other public services and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the fund of choice.

Roy Sturtz, 60, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness.   Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton with Pastor Jim Blair officiating. He is survived by his daughter, Shauna (David) Graesser and grandchildren, Seth and Abigail of Amana; three sons, Andrew (Kristine) and grandchildren, Alexandria and Miranda of Ames, Nicholas (Cullin Schooley) of Des Moines, and Cristopher of Vinton; two brothers, George of Vinton and Roger (Jean) of Urbana; and one niece, Peggy Coleson.

Eleanor Luze, age 84, died peacefully Thursday, June 03, 2010, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following a short illness.    Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010 at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home and also for an hour before services at the church on Saturday.  Funeral services will be Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 1030 a.
